SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP4. It
includes built-in pure PHP support for the IMAP and SMTP protocols, and
all pages render in pure HTML 4.0 (with no JavaScript required) for maximum
compatibility across browsers. It has very few requirements and is very
easy to configure and install.
SquirrelMail has all the functionality you would want from an email client,
including strong MIME support, address books, and folder manipulation.

Included with all u2-web hosting plans is the powerful yet easy to use
Horde Mail web based email. Having Horde Mail is like having your own
Hotmail or Yahoo Email type service without all the advertisements.
It works with Spam Assassin, which is also included with your plan to
help keep unwanted emails to a minimum.
Even if you don't use a web based email service all the time, having
one available can be great for checking messages on the road. It's also
a great tool for multiple users sharing the same PC

SqWebMail is the webmail module that's bundled with the Courier mail
server. SqWebMail can also be packaged separately, and used with any other
mail server that uses maildirs. NOTE: SqWebMail DOES NOT support traditional
Mailbox files, only Maildirs.
Features
* SqWebMail is very fast, and light. It accesses maildirs directly,
and does not use an IMAP server.
* Dynamically-generated HTML is stored in external files. Many (but not
all) display elements can be customized without changing the program code.
* Hierarchical mail folders, and shared folders.
* Virtual accounts or system accounts. Virtual accounts may be managed
via LDAP, MySQL, PostgresSQL, or flat files compiled into a GBDM/DB database.
* Address books.
* Extensive MIME support; defanged HTML mail; flowed text format; DSNs;
and digests.
* Javascript and cookies are not required. (There is some Javascript and
cookie usage for some value-added stuff, such as print preview).
* Spell checking with ispell.
* Mail filtering with Maildrop.
* Encryption and digital signatures with GnuPG.
* Calendaring.

I'm a little hesitant to share my review with this hosting provider (U2-Web), since after everyone reads it, they're going to switch providers! These guys are great. My last provider was causing me serious issues (ixwebhosting). In complete frustration, I came here to webhostjury for a recommendation. I was looking for high rankings acrossed the board and a high number of reviews. Low review numbers are meaningless, so what if 2 people give a company 5's? But if 50 people consistently rate a company highly, that means something.
